In the first nine months of this year, almost 8 million passenger cars were produced in the European Union. Compared to the same period last year, this represents an increase of 5.8%.
As reported by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), almost 50 million cars were produced worldwide during this period. This is a nine percent increase year-on-year, but the stated result is still approximately 5 million units below the level before the pandemic in 2019.
Production in North America increased by 11.8% to almost 8 million cars during the first nine months of the current year. With approximately 1.6 million passenger cars produced, volumes in South America increased by 12.4% compared to the same period in 2021. China’s car production rose sharply, reaching 16.4 million units from January to September. In this case, it was an increase of 15.1%.
