Six students were injured Monday in a shooting at a high school in St. Louis in the US state of Missouri.
TASR took over the report from the AP agency. The shooting was reported shortly after 9 a.m. at the arts-focused high school, which is part of public schools. After the shooting, hundreds of students, teachers and staff left the building. Dozens of police vehicles immediately surrounded the school.
Public schools in St. Louis tweeted that the shooter was “quickly stopped” by the police. According to a tweet from the police department, the shooter is in custody. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) later said in a statement that there was no immediate danger at the school.
Police at the scene told TV stations that six people were injured, while one person suffered a cardiac arrest. KTVI-TV, citing the police, reported that the shooter was among the wounded. No further details have been released yet.
