In an open letter, healthcare organizations request the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Boris Kollár (We are a family), to hold a meeting on the draft state budget for 2023 in the healthcare chapter. They consider the budget insufficient, they want to inform him about their proposals for solving current problems in the health sector.
They would also welcome the participation of Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský (OĽANO nominee) at the meeting. TASR was informed about this by the manager for communication and media of the Slovak Medical Chamber (SLK), Nancy Závodská.
“The long-term deficit of resources for the health sector has caused a huge investment debt in the personnel and material-technical area, our facilities have no reserves, some also have a problem with financing their basic operation. This negative trend continues and it is necessary to reverse it immediately,” said the organizations. They pointed out that the damage done in the healthcare system affects human health.
In addition to SLK, the Association of State Hospitals of the Slovak Republic, the Association of Hospitals of Slovakia, the Association of Private Physicians – Zdravita and the Association of Outpatient Providers signed the open letter.
