On Tuesday (November 29), a traffic accident involving a passenger car and a passenger train at the railway crossing on Východná Street in Prievidza required the intervention of firefighters. The collision did not result in any injuries. TASR was informed about this on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the firefighters in the Trenčín region, Marián Petrík.
“There were 31 passengers and a crew of three in the passenger train, all of them were uninjured. The driver of the passenger car was out of the vehicle and also uninjured. The railway crossing was impassable in both directions as a result of the collision,” Petrík described.
According to him, the Prievidza firemen defined the scene of the incident and checked the health status of all participants, at the same time they carried out fire fighting measures at the scene of the incident and stabilized the vehicle.
“After documenting the traffic accident by police officers the firefighters pulled the affected car from the track with a winch and towed it to a side road. They also checked the train set,” he added. There was no leakage of operating fluids as a result of the incident.
During the accident, three members of the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) from Prievidza intervened with one piece of equipment.
