The First Vice-President of the Ukrainian Government Yulia Svyrydenkova announced that Russian soldiers raped only a five-year-old girl and a 76-year-old Ukrainian woman. On Tuesday, Svyrydenkova told the British television portal Sky News that she learned about various cases during the Russian war in Ukraine, when Ukrainian girls and women became victims of sexual violence.
When asked how Russian soldiers treat women, Svyrydenko replied: “It’s terrible.”
“They told me stories of women and children who were raped. The case of the youngest victim concerns a five-year-old girl, and the oldest victim was a 76-year-old woman. These are horrific stories and the world should know about them and respond. I am here to emphasize the necessity of imposing more sanctions against Russia and continuing the supply of weapons to Ukraine, let us end this war with victory,” said Svyrydenková.
“Our people suffer a lot, women and children. The whole world is preparing for Christmas and Ukraine is preparing for more shelling and on other rockets hitting our electricity grid,” she added.
Her comments followed a day after how During a visit to London, the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, accused Russian forces of using rape as a weapon of war.
At an international conference on combating sexual violence during conflicts, Zelenska also stated that the wives of Russian soldiers encourage their husbands to rape Ukrainian women.
